The 'Original'

In 1911 John J. Rawlings, the eminent Engineer developed the rawlplug in response to the British Museum needing an electrical fixings that wouldn't damage the masonry work. The fixings available at the time were not considered to be of a high enough quality. So John J. Rawlings developed the Fibre plug and Rawlplug as a company was developed.

The Fibre Plug

The original Fibre plug works by expanding in the hole to give a better grip, this prompted the design of other expansion fixings and is in production today.


Rawlplug and Rawl Fixings today

100 years on and the fibre plug remains popular and is still in production. Rawlplug and Rawl Fixings have developed the expansion anchor and now have a wide variety of fixings, including bonded anchors which are suitable for many different applications, substrates and loads
